"Oliver Twist"

I went to see this movie because of my homework, so let’s sum it up in one word! Moving. If it can be summed up in one sentence: a renewed light in the dark. The little protagonist Oliver is a very pure and kind little boy, an orphan, but he has experienced a lot at a young age! So to speak. But "Bad Old Man" Fagin, one of the leaders of the "thief family" in the film, is an Old man who treats children (thieves) well. However, I haven't read the original book, and I haven't seen his true character from the film for the time being. In fact, Fagin is quite selfish, and even wants to delete Oliver in order to save his family.

In the end, little Oliver didn't complain too much about those villains, at least he didn't show it in the movie. Maybe the director showed the children's mentality of "promoting good and suppressing evil"!

In the film, the human heart, environment and other expressions are used to reveal the cruelty to children in the dark and superstitious religious environment of the old society. This should be expressed from the side, there is a certain irony.

But the film doesn't seem to pay much attention to detail. There are many original parties who said that the old 1968 version is more in line with the original and more touching.

But because of its meaning and the way the whole film is presented, I think this film is not bad except for some minor flaws.

Always compare with the '48 version.

I saw a black and white version when I was in elementary school and thought it was pretty good, now. . . Did you really grow up? What I remember most clearly is that the owner of the coffin shop said: "This child has a natural sadness in his eyes, and he is very suitable to be a funeral person." It is really joyful. If others work with a straight face, they will definitely be scolded by the boss.

Oliver Twist quotes

  • Mrs. Sowerberry: Is the boy mad?

Mr. Bumble: Tis not madness, Ma'am, it's meat

    Mrs. Sowerberry: Meat?

Mr. Bumble: Meat, ma'am, meat! If you kept the boy on gruel this would have never have happened.

Mrs. Sowerberry: Oh my, this is what comes of being liberal.

  • Artful Dodger: You may start by jappaning my trotter case. In plain English, clean my boots.
