Rise of Female Consciousness

This article has nothing to do with the movie, don't spray, just divergent thinking~

During the Spring Festival holiday, I concentrated on watching some Schwarzenegger movies. Although they are all old movies 20 or 30 years ago, it is not appropriate to criticize the current ethical standards, but I still feel that some places are uncomfortable.

"True Lies": When it was discovered that his wife might have derailed, the husband used his power to make a series of teasing on his wife (coercion, seduction, surprise arrest, secret interrogation). Feelings have sublimated. . Excuse me??? Don’t you feel that your personality has been insulted? The subconsciousness conveyed here is that the wife is a subsidiary of the husband. When she has moral taint (potential derailment), the husband can deal with it arbitrarily. For the above plot, the audience still thinks it is a comedy, and they laughed and wailed!

"Total Memories": This film is even worse. Sharon Stone’s female villain was recalled by the villain after Arnold discovered her true identity. From one man (Arno) to another man (the villain), she did not have the slightest sense of autonomy, and she was like a tool. Well, when the female pig is on the stage, Arnold chooses the female pig’s hair color, physique, and personality according to his personal preferences, like a custom doll, it is simply!

"The Last Day of the Devil": The female pig is the "Holy Grail" and is ordered to carry Satan's heirs. As for her personal wishes, no one cares. Everyone treated her like fighting for a vessel, some wanted to seize, some wanted to smash it.

On the other hand, the Terminator series is gratifying-the times are advancing and consciousness is awakening. In the beginning, women existed like the "Holy Grail" in the Terminator movies-the mother of the future leader is a container, some people want to protect, some people want to be beaten. In 2015, "Terminator: Genesis", we were delighted to see that the leader's mother Salad, with an awareness of autonomy, was no longer satisfied with her own "protected" setting, but took the initiative to try to rewrite the plot. In 2019, "Terminator: Dark Fate", this one is really applauded! The patron saint in the film is the female robot Grace, and the protected woman is no longer the "Holy Grail", but the future leader. Women, in the Terminator series, step by step finally stepped into the realm of equality, realizing the control of their own body and destiny.

Above, I did not intend to provoke a dispute between men and women, but from the perspective of women, I made a sound for some uncomfortable movie content. As women, can we freely express our preferences, control our bodies, and arrange our own destiny?

Trying to substitute the perspective of robots in science fiction films seems to be able to "understand" men's aversion to current hot topics: the awakening of robots' self-consciousness is contrary to the overall interests of human beings. As a human, do you feel that robots have the right to be separated from humans? Control and thus dominate its consciousness and body? Rotate the perspective at 720 degrees: The awakening of women's self-consciousness is contrary to the overall interests of men. As a man, do you think women have the right to break away from the control of men (secular moral standards), and then dominate their consciousness and body? . . .

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines quotes

  • [first lines]

John Connor: [voiceover] The future has not been written. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. I wish I could believe that. My name is John Connor, they tried to murder me before I was born, when I was 13 they tried again. Machines from the future. Terminators. All my life my mother told me the storm was coming, Judgment Day, the beginning of the war between man and machines. Three billion lives would vanish in an instant, and I would lead what was left of the human race to ultimate victory. It hasn't happened, no bombs fell, computers didn't take control, we stopped Judgment Day. I should feel safe, but I don't, so I live off the grid - no phone, no address, no one and nothing can find me. I've erased all connections to the past, but as hard as I try I can't erase my dreams, my nightmares.

  • Kate Brewster: Next time bring a clue, not a paintball gun.
