All-in-one Lubitsch

Some people said that this is a comedy full of anger. After watching it for a long time, I didn't know where the anger came from.
This is the first Lubitsch I've come across, and I'm already speechless.
The amazing thing is that Lubitsch, who made such an anti-Nazi film, turned out to be a German, and at this time, World War II was in full swing.
There is also the heroine who had to sigh. She crashed and died shortly after filming. She was 33 years old, and she turned out to be the wife of comrade Gable. The creation is too inhumane.
To be or not to be, the repeated echoes in the film, especially the plot where someone still stands up in the final performance, sets off the image of a husband who cherishes feathers very cutely.
I still remember when the husband asked the Nazi colonel if he knew the great actor who played Shakespeare comedies. dumb. Disappointed. Burning.

Maria Tura: The right side? Well, what is the right side?

Professor Alexander Siletsky: The winning side.

  • Professor Alexander Siletsky: Here in Warsaw there are a lot of people that we know very well and there are a lot of people that we don't know quite so well and would like to know them a great deal better. And that's were you could help us, Mrs. Tura.

Maria Tura: Oh, you want me to be a spy!

Professor Alexander Siletsky: Oh, now, come, come, come. That's rather a crude word.

Maria Tura: You know, I once played a spy. It was a great success. I had wonderful notices. It was really an exciting part.

Professor Alexander Siletsky: Well, wouldn't it be exciting to play it in real life?

Maria Tura: Well, I got shot in the last act. I suppose that happens to most spies.
