poetry of color

"There is nothing in this life but mist", life is a fog, but it keeps changing colors. The picture of the film is like a child's graffiti, but it is meticulous that every color is rendering and deploying the conflicts and contradictions of the plot, red blood, green life, gray imprisonment, white blank, bronze solemn, pale. Blue sorrow, a poem written in color is thus presented.
When the grey walls of Kells monastery continue to build, perhaps its fate is already doomed. In the face of the impending disaster, the dean used his method to defend his faith and dignity, and put all his hopes into building high walls, trying to escape the disaster. The monks in the monastery have no knowledge of the outside world. Whenever a foreigner takes refuge in the monastery, it will cause a huge noise. Inside and outside the high wall are two worlds, one is a narrow confinement and the other is a vast forest. Maybe living in a gray tower in a monastery is temporarily safe, or maybe there is a dangerous dark lair in the forest, but a complete life always has to experience the different colors of the world before he can find his true belief and life.
High walls can fall, but faith must stand up. In the depths of the heart, there is something that is far stronger than high barriers, and that is hope. At the end of the film, the Book of Kyle is gently opened, and the green What the handwriting depicts and flows out is the growth and hope of life.
The high wall will eventually fall, but hope continues to be passed down from generation to generation.

Like a long scroll of wall paintings from Egypt, a siege of the city is full of tension, but the director's naive story is weak and ultimately can't take away my 5th star

The Secret of Kells quotes

  • Brendan: Aidan is my friend. I'm helping him make the most incredible book in the whole world! He says it will turn darkness into light. Wait until you see it!

Aisling: Wait until you see the rest of my forest.

  • Aisling: [interrupting him] Is this your cat?

[Brendan screams and falls off rock]

    Aisling: Well?

Brendan: I've heard about... creatures like you. You're a fairy!

[Aisling gives Pangur Ban a dubious look]

Aisling: What are you doing in my forest? You've come to spoil it, haven't you?

    Brendan: Uh...

Aisling: [accusingly] You were probably sent here by your family to get food, weren't you? Well. You can go right back where you came from. If you don't, I'll make the wolves get you. *Rawr!*

Brendan: No! uh, I didn't mean to. Look, I'm sorry alright? I'm not here to get food for my family. I'm here to get things to make ink. I don't have a family, and we have food in Kells. So I wouldn't come here for it anyway. I was just... a bit lost.

    Aisling: You have no family?

    Brendan: Uh, no.

    Aisling: No mother?

[Brendan looks down. Aisling bows her head]

    Aisling: I'm alone too.
