The evils of human nature are not only easily exposed when they are alone, but the evils in the subconscious of people in groups are even more ugly! "Sin in the American Pastoral" is a movie that feels very powerless and depressing. The film tells the story of two sisters (Cissy and Nini) who are fostered by their parents who work in circus performances in the house of a strange woman, and then the sister (Cissy) is brutally abused to death. The whole story begins with a trial, interspersed with recollections of the inhumane incident, based on the testimony of witnesses. Ceci and Nini meet the Gerties at church and are invited to play at home. After the two sisters readily agreed, a group of children had a great time at home. (Gertie is a single mother of six, drags a sick body, smokes, drinks heavily, has a lover who could be her son, and lives off ironing tips.) When it got late, Xixi’s father found Gertie’s house, and after having a drink with her, he talked about the job to foster his daughter for two months, Gertie actively tried to take care of the two sisters, only 20 US dollars a week, Xixi’s father agreed and left. . (Giving her daughter to a strange woman casually, what a big-hearted dad!!!) One day, after Gertie and the little lover had a lingering meal, the little lover took her only 20 dollars. A week later, Gertie did not wait for the 20 dollars sent by Xixi's father, and began to punish the two sisters for the first time. She beat the two sisters with a leather whip in the basement. The next day, however, $20 arrived in the mail, with a letter asking the daughters to call back. Soon Sisi and Gertie's eldest daughter became close friends and took Sisi to meet her married boyfriend. A few days later, the eldest daughter told Sixi that she was pregnant and told her not to tell anyone. By chance, Xixi saw that her eldest daughter was being bullied by her married boyfriend. She immediately stopped her and said, "She is pregnant with your child." The eldest daughter angrily told Xixi that you would be punished and went home. However, these happened to be heard by the big mouth who had a crush on Xixi... The eldest daughter who came home slandered Sixi and told Gertie, "Sisi told others in private that I was a lewd woman!" A few days later, the school was full of news that the eldest daughter was pregnant, and Xixi's sister Nini also quietly told Xixi that she saw a piece of paper in the trash can at home, which was the letter sent by Xixi's parents. Sixi earned money by picking up plastic bottles and called her parents. Nini told her parents that Gertie had a bad temper. She and her sister encountered great difficulties, but her parents didn’t care. When she arrived at Sisi to answer the phone, she happened to be seen by a group of Gertie's children, and Sisi was forced to hang up quickly. After returning home, Gertie knew about the phone call, slandered Sixi for stealing money and made a phone call, and once again scalded Sisi with cigarette butts in front of all the children! At a weekend party, Gertie saw the little lover talking to Xixi. After returning home, he slandered Xixi for hooking up with the little lover. It was broken, and Sisi was thrown into the basement, unable to move because of the injuries, so she began to live a miserable life... Every day, the children of Gertie's family would bring nearby young people and schoolmates to torture Sisi and beat her. , scalding her with cigarette butts, spraying her with water pipes, ravaging her in various ways, taking pleasure from her... The bad woman watched the whole process, did not stop anyone, and took the lead in carving "I She's a prostitute, and she's proud of it"... In the end, Xixi returned to her parents and took them to a bad woman's house. When she entered the house, she found herself lying on the ground. It turned out that she had already died this summer. This perverted and twisted home... At the end of the film, Gertie was sentenced to life imprisonment, and the rest of the abusers were punished to varying degrees. The most powerless thing in the movie is that no one ever thought about helping Xixi, and they all joined the camp of hurting Xixi pervertedly. During the trial, the judge asked the abusers, "Did anyone instruct you to do this? Why did you do it?" They replied, "No, I don't know." The judge asked her sister Nini, "Why didn't you call the police when you saw your sister was ravaged, injured and beaten? Don't you call for help?" She replied, "I'm afraid, if I say it, I will be punished like Xixi's"...
