I was reading Tarkovsky's book recently and came to watch his movies. Virgo, the filming is very poetic. There are many long shots, and some scenes and clip scheduling are not very clear. Looking at the description in the book, I can notice the details and intentions of the old tower in the scene layout, the four dreams and reality. The connection deals with the poetic logic of the old tower and the so-called actor's interpretation of the characters they play.
War brings suffering, especially for children.
The ending is so beautiful. The artistic sense of the whole film is not distorted and contrived, it is quiet and shocking, and it is full of vitality.

Ivan's Childhood quotes

  • Ivan's Mother: If a well is really deep, you can see a star down there even in the middle of a sunny day.

  • Ivan: Is he a Fritz too?

Galtsev: He's either a German doctor or writer.

Ivan: They have no writers. I saw them burning books in a square. They poured gasoline on them and set them on fire. There was soot in the air for a week.

Galtsev: That writer lived 400 years ago.

    Ivan: Well, then maybe.
