He has a pure heart like a child, he doesn't know the world, and he doesn't know what is good or bad. He is afraid to get along with people, he is used to being alone.
However, inexplicably, a woman appeared. Does he love her? I don't think he really can answer this question himself.
As for Beth, I don't think she did anything wrong. She accepts his childlike heart, but what she needs is a man, not a child who can't understand any jokes.
She left and so did he. He is working hard, trying to learn life.
Beth's father is a counter-example, a man of all sides. Even going to jail is as impassioned as going to study. He always lives with a mask, whether it is for others or for his lover.
In contrast, adam's love is wholehearted, without a trace of impurities. I was really moved when I saw him overcoming obstacles alone, walking a long way to find Beth, and hiding flowers in his clothes. He gave her all his love.
It turned out to be beyond my expectations, I thought they would be together. Still, the book that beth gave him was great: he doesn't belong here, but he is here.
Adam is not of this world, but he is still there.
