She Left Me When I Was A Magician

The pattering rain woven into a silver mesh shrouded the entire city. That day, the magician released the rabbit from the cage and left with an umbrella. Only left the girl a large sum of money and a note: "There are no magicians in the world."

The rain was getting heavier and the city was beginning to feel lethargic. The wooden idol that no one cares about is an abandoned child displaying his loneliness in the window.
——There are no magicians in the world.

Acrobats work as painters. The puppeteer leaned against the wall and begged. The clown hanged himself in the hotel. Did we betray our ideals, or did our ideals betray us? Maybe not, we are all girls looking out the window looking at the high heels we like but can't afford it, waiting for someone to use magic to help you make a miracle.

The magician told the girl, I can't do magic, I'm just a magician. All magicians are deceivers, and only the innocent are willing to be deceived and deceived by the world. The last happy moment is like having a good dream that you don't want to wake up from.

The first part of the movie didn't really appeal to me. Compared with the director's other work "Crazy Dating in the Beautiful City", "The Magician" has a much gentler expression, and there is no such exaggerated and grotesque character modeling, because art forms such as exaggeration and deformation are rarely used. In comparison, "The Magician" is more like a realist work, without gorgeous pretense and ambiguous symbolism, just using a simple, pure narrative to express the theme. So when I watched the first part, it felt too bland and tender, but all the emotions exploded at the end of the film, like a long-planned time bomb.

At the beginning of the movie, the subtitles team prompted: "This is a cartoon that doesn't need dialogue to express affection, and it doesn't need any translation, you will be moved by it."
This is not a silent film, but the protagonist has not released a single Word. It is the supporting role who said a few lines suddenly. Same as "Crazy Dating Beautiful City".

The magician didn't say a word, and for this absurd world beyond his comprehension, any words were superfluous.

PS: I'm listening to RQTN's "She left me when I was on battlefield" as I write this review. The same rainy day, the same sadness.
