A movie about glam rock in the 70s, a movie full of sexual liberation, gay, bisexual. The men in it are always more pretentious than the women, in platform shoes, with heavy eye ointment and brightly colored lip gloss, this is a film that blurs the gender.
I like Jonathan who plays Slade very much. His temperament is very suitable for playing such a feminine role. He is
flirtatious.
He plays it very well. When I watch the movie, I can't tell whether he is playing himself or Slade.
As for Ewan,
another surprise, really liked his performances in these small budget indie films rather than those Hollywood made ones.
His look in it always reminds me of another Curt, the lead singer of Nirvana. His name in the film, Curt Wilde, is a combination of Curt Cobain and Oscar Wilde, two people I can never relate to.
The music in this movie is also great, and it's my first exposure to glam pop, and I really like it.
I don't want to go into detail about what the movie says, because I'm not sure if I really understand what the movie is trying to say. For me, bright colors, gorgeous music, that's enough.
However, I'll watch it again if I get the chance...
