At first I didn't understand why it wasn't "everyone get together to avoid being killed", after all, life is more important than anything, isn't it? But in retrospect, they could choose to do so, but they didn't; and the most prestigious leader who might make others follow his advice was the murderer himself. What do sinners have in common? They are also dying because of it. Because it is their own character traits that are noticed, seen through and used by the murderers. Perhaps this is the funeral of the extreme egoists.
