The plot is weak. I don't know much about the "Beat Generation", so I struggled to see it, and I didn't get a lot of points. Possibly later works by famous artists.
Hanhan is very handsome, ruffian and charming, and robbed Danny's scene. The original intention of watching this film is to see Hanhan.
The cuts and music are fantastic, the back and forth is fantastic. Several places, such as Lu and Allen in a still bar, Jack and his wife at home and Allen having sex with strangers and Hanhan and David arguing with music at the end.
But the plot is messy, just telling an experience? The subject is...? Well, literary films don't need a theme.
