In my opinion, Terminator 3 is more like an upgraded version of Terminator 2. Whether it is the plot of the story, the development of the story, including the setting of the villain, it is basically not much different from Terminator 2. Although it has spanned more than ten years, this work is not a natural product of the Terminator universe setting or the development of science fiction creative concepts, but more like a stopgap measure to cater to the needs of movie fans and extend the life of IP. Obviously, the old Terminator team did not spend too much time on this story.
The fight between the big car and the small car is still no different from Terminator 2. Schwarzenegger is still vigorous, and the villain robot is cold and bitter. Except for the more exciting scene, the overall is very mediocre. It seems that the new version of the robot can control electrical appliances, so it manipulates five police cars to chase and kill the male lead, but there doesn't seem to be any eye-catching scenes.
The villain's image is an upgrade on the basis of T1000, and the gender that has also been transformed, except for the irregular power and the female label, there is really no impressive performance. Human body reversal, liquefaction, and cold-blooded killing seem to be left over from the T1000 game. In terms of performance, TX should be more than one level higher than T800. Even if it can't be killed in seconds, it should obviously have the upper hand. However, in actual combat, the superiority of the upgrade is not reflected at all. The threat to the protagonist team is not even as good as T1000.
To talk about the highlights, I like the two plots in Terminator 3. One is the explanation of Terminator 2. Although Terminator 2 destroyed the prototype of Skynet, the research and development doctor also sacrificed heroically, but it did not completely change Skynet. The rise of the future only delayed the occurrence of the Skynet incident. This setting seems to be a plot patch for Terminator 2, but it actually contains relatively profound philosophical propositions such as historical inevitability and contingency. Unfortunately, the plot did not give more explanations on this issue.
The final outcome of Terminator 3 is that Skynet failed to block, and the nuclear explosion ended smoothly. The male and female lead team arrived at the refuge according to the instructions of the father-in-law and father. Originally, the male lead thought that there would be a super weapon against Skynet. But in fact it is simply a refuge. Father-in-law's instructions are profound and connotative. You must live. Only if you live will there be hope for human rejuvenation. It seems weak, but full of life power. In addition, this plot also indirectly connects the hero's setting of the future human army commander (although this setting was overturned by the later Terminator 4)
Generally speaking, it can be regarded as the work of Terminator 2 which is also moving at the same time. There are no surprises or disappointments, but it is very ordinary.
