The love in the dream, why is it not true, how many people in the world are there in the dream?

I was too young to be full of lust and lost my body in the explosion of lust, and I was too old to be full of memories and forget everything under the weight of memory. - Zhou Guoping

Recently, I just happened to be reading some shallow philosophies related to the meaning of life and ultimate value. I also thought of some questions while watching this movie. I wrote it here to discuss with you. The title comes from Tang Xianzu's language, because the second virgin in the ending said: I really fell in love with you, Mimi said: I am a phantom, you will never get me. These words fit.

The name of the movie, as explained in a film review , I didn't quite understand the name before and thought it was so after reading it! There are other answers, but I'm personally happy with this statement.

The movie lasted for more than two hours. During the whole process, I was waiting for Mimi's role to reverse. As a woman, when I saw her come to the hospital with her head held high and her chest up, she greeted her gracefully, and I lost the humble look in the past. Finally, taking a deep breath, he left the hospital, pulled the male protagonist Oscar out of bed, and said something arrogant and contemptuous as a bastard! I just want to applaud, this is the Mimi I like.

Romance starts fast, but not everyone's life can afford romance

I have always felt that the movie is very similar to Watanabe Junichi's "Paradise Lost". The hero and heroine in the book are also at the peak of their sexual experience and exploration in the process of falling in love, and they are afraid that they will never get such pleasure and happiness in the future. Happy, no one else will be like each other again, the last two people choose to commit suicide to ensure the eternal love of their love, they have tasted the most passionate lust, they burn themselves for each other, they have loved, so they choose to stop at the peak . The same is true for movies. Oscar felt that after the two reached perfection in sex, there would be no more perfection. He knew that the two would go downhill from now on, so he stopped. The same is true for Mimi, but she loves Oscar so much that she can't do without Oscar. After Oscar left him, she suffered, fell into depression, and even gave up her independent personality in order to be together, and she has become a puppet of love.

Unlike "Paradise Lost", Oscar and Mimi's love did not reach the extreme. The lovers in the book understand and appreciate each other's spiritual connotation, and are willing to end their own lives for the other party, while Oscar's love for Mimi is only based on the initial good impression and sexy body. He lost interest in Mimi's body. In the face of Mimi's sexual suggestion, he complained and wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible. Unlike Mimi, she loves passionately and deeply. She tries her best to trap this man, but she doesn't know that this will only make Oscar hate her more and more. This is the most true love that hurts her the most. Hate because of love. Unwilling to let go, she returned the injuries she suffered, and she had to let the two continue to entangle them through marriage. She still loves Oscar, but she hates Oscar even more, and is neither willing to let go of the other party nor herself. Just like when we love each other, we kill harm for the people.

In the finale Oscar finally plucked up the courage to end it all, freed by death.

But aside from death, is there any other way to change all this? Is the meaning of life only for the ultimate sexual experience? Is it really happy when desires are satisfied? What is the ultimate value of life?

First, learn to manage your own thresholds. The higher the threshold, the more difficult it is to satisfy. Once satisfied, the desire to pursue again will be lost. Always have hope for the fantasy, never break it, you will always have the desire, you can always pursue it, and be happy forever. If the male and female protagonists are moderately indulgent and continue to cultivate their feelings, maybe time will give them family affection, who knows →_→ In fact, the storytelling technique of the film is also the same. It was the first time I recalled the love with Mimi at the Oscars, and I talked about the most exciting In the most blushing sex scene, the director stopped abruptly and let the second male go back, which not only whetted the second male's appetite but also dominated the audience's psychology.

Second, say goodbye to the past and brave the future. In the second half of the movie, Mimi finally regains her life. Because of the huge injury, she no longer believes in human nature, and would rather torture each other than start a new life. She can only give herself a sense of security through her sovereign status in marriage. The pleasure of Oscar's pain (this pleasure is not sexual pleasure!). If Mimi leaves Oscar forever and starts a new life, maybe she will live well, maybe she will be a good dancer. Mom! This piece is too chicken soup to watch!

Finally, really want to study philosophy! Zhou Guoping said that philosophy cannot provide answers, it can only allow us to keep asking questions. Explore your true self, develop your own thinking, constantly understand the world and yourself, and constantly update your life. People will have different answers to the same question at each stage of their life. Maybe religious belief will run through one's life. And provide a steady stream of power, but a single desire is not the only pursuit of life. Oscar and Mimi, one is lost in sex, the other is lost in love. Not knowing what to lose, not knowing what to pursue, not knowing why I am unfortunate, this is great sadness! The light and romantic sensual life is fleeting, and the rest is boredom and emptiness. The tragic consciousness of the long life always reminds them that they can no longer experience the pleasure of first-time sex, only despair and pain. Perhaps this is the fate they cannot escape. Zhou Guoping said that people have two impulses, one is the aesthetic impulse, intoxicated with the present; the other is the metaphysical impulse, longing for eternity. Oscar and Mimi's impulse is obviously the first, focusing on the moment, indulging in the aesthetic world of the senses, constantly seeking new stimulation and new pleasure, this irresponsible and complete indulgence comes at the cost of pain in real life, unrealistic Sexual faculties keep him in self-imposed exile. The destructiveness of nothingness is inevitable at any moment. He escaped Mimi's containment, looking for strangers while desperate. Thinking of Master Hongyi, he gave up everything without attachment and fear after writing "Sorrows and Joys", became a monk, found the final soul destination, found solace in religious belief, and obtained peace. But not everyone can be Master Hongyi!

Finally, let’s talk about the shortcomings of this film. The plot is a little weak. Oscar is an unrecognized writer, but he inherited his father’s legacy, and settled in Paris across the ocean. A lot of income or even no income, but has always had money to indulge in sensuality. A good story is told, but the theme and value that the film wants to convey is not too high, or not clear enough. The film alludes to the tragic characteristics of real marriages. Whether it is an extremely indulgent marriage like Oscar or a traditionally restrained marriage like a male second, there is no happy ending. At the same time, the appearance of Indian girls adds a bright atmosphere to the film, and uses girls. The father's words hinted at the director's solution to the problem of marriage: that children are the antidote to marriage. But the director actually arranged for the girl's mother to die (the movie said she was gone, I don't think it was a divorce, it was very likely to be a death), which is a bit desperate!

The above is just my personal opinion.
