Opening Shots:

Video and music form a contrast. The whole picture presents high contrast, strong contrast between light and dark, and uses cool tones, creating a terrifying atmosphere at the beginning. But at the same time, the background music is very cheerful, mixed with noisy human voices. The two seem to be at odds with each other, the contrast is great, but it also gives people a very ironic and joking feeling. Because the director is telling one huge tragedy after another in a relaxed and lively tone. And in addition to the beginning, there is such a paragraph before everyone in this movie confesses.

Mirrors are used extensively in the film to indirectly express the behavior of the characters. The first and second stills, I think they use the mirror to show the shadow side of the characters. The first one is the conspiracy of the two to kill the teacher's daughter, and the second one is the conspiracy of Ben Ai who is behind the teacher. Prepare to drug Werther to his slow death. The third still photo is to see the mother's terrified expression through the mirror, instead of choosing to take it directly, which gives the audience more room for imagination. How terrifying is it?

The teacher used this still photo in class to talk about the distance between characters, but I think it can also be viewed from the perspective of the camera, using a high-angle lens. First, for the relationship between the characters in the film, you can clearly see the comparison between Xiu Zai and the surrounding classmates. Boys are overwhelmed by the surroundings, have nowhere to escape, are irresistible, and the sense of success that boys care about most is also frustrated. The second is from the viewer's point of view, from the perspective of onlookers, overlooking the farce in the world, the more joking, the stronger the impact on the viewer.

These two shots violated the 180-degree principle and were shot from left and right directions, pulling the audience out at once. But this scene is before Shuya's conflict with Ben Ai breaks out and kills Ben Ai, and such jumping increases the tension. And from the right side, the light hit Ben Ai's face, and there was a secret in his heart that could overwhelm and irritate Shuya. From the left side, the light hitting Xiu Zai's face is the crushing of people who don't care about life on those who cherish life. It seems that there is no difference, but it is more nervous about the plot behind it.

The following two stills use jump-connection to show the violent killing scene. Using the same composition, but with a big leap in time, omitting the process of killing, and finally presenting the result. Given a lot of room for imagination, compared to the direct violent scene, such a jump connection seems to make the audience feel more terrified.

②Lens conversion method

The following three lenses are all well used with the cut! In the first stills, Xiaozhi threw himself towards the table in the first scene, and Xiaozhi raised his head in the second scene, and switched the camera through the coherence of actions in different time and space. The second still photo is very similar to the cut of "2001: A Space Odyssey". Through the movement of the object, it is thrown into the air and then caught, and the space outside the camera is transformed. The third still is my favorite, because it happened at the most intense time of the plot - when Ben Ai was killed by Xiu Zai. In a space-time, Moriguchi-sensei grabbed Ben Ai's wrist, and Ben Ai struggled to break free. When I thought I might be about to break free, the time and space suddenly switched, and after Benai was killed, my hands slumped to the ground weakly. This is really cool!

In the process of the teacher's confession, the director gave two reaction shots, one was a long-range shot, and the classmates fell asleep, and the other was a close-up. The two girls whispered and discussed the incident in the teacher's mouth. No matter which shot it is, everyone doesn't care. First of all, it shows the atmosphere of this class, the unharmonious relationship between teachers and students, and the sloppy and hostile atmosphere of the students. The second is to contrast with the surprised state of Sakuranomiya Masayoshi's ex-husband who later found out that he was the teacher.
