Although there is more evidence that Anna was buried alive, it is always more likely to convince many that it was just a soul communication. It doesn't matter what the truth is, that's the gimmick of the film. If you have an obsessive-compulsive disorder that must unravel the mystery, don't read it, and if you must dig deeper things in this kind of work, give it up. I'm not saying it doesn't have connotations, I really don't think it's necessary to analyze it. This is not a story, but a piece of fine art, so pale in beauty.
