About life and death

That's pretty good for a debut feature, but there can be a lot of confusion in the film. First, what was the motive of mortician Elliott? Personally, I think the answer can be found in the little boy. In the beginning, the little boy was bullied by his classmates, then he talked about his love for a few chickens, until finally he suddenly buried a chicken alive! What happened to the little boy and his attitude towards the chick can give a glimpse of the root of Elliott's behavior. I am afraid that all the boy's behavior is a microcosm of Elliott's childhood, which is the only reason that can explain Elliott's behavior. . Second, did Paul really dug out Anna at the end of the film? Or his hallucination? In fact, even if he really rescued Anna, it was destroyed by Elliott, and the last scene has made it all clear.
