A thousand readers have a thousand Hamlets. Many people focus on the issue of whether the heroine really died after a car accident. I feel a little regretful. Many details can prove that the heroine did not die. The film is really regarded as a suspense film, I don't know if it goes against the director's original intention. The plausible open ending at the end is a bit bloody and a little unfinished, but it's enough to stop here. If you think of the whole film as a main line around the question of life and death, you don't have to argue about its meaning and core at the end. After all, this is the case. Isn't a huge proposition unsolvable in itself?
The place where the story takes place and the clothes and makeup of the core characters have not changed much from beginning to end, which is a bit boring. But the mysterious tone and the dialogue between Anna and the undertaker give the film its strength and elevate it. In a conversation between Anna and the mortuary, Anna said that every day is the same, getting up in the morning to take a shower, passing the congested road... As for her boyfriend Paul, due to the shadow of childhood, she never dared to really say love. Life is often exhausting and confusing, but when death comes, there is no courage to face it, just like the horror when Anna wakes up not sure if she is alive or dead, and regrets what she still hasn't done.
All the endings have already been written at the beginning. It is not so much the editor's intention to say that it is human nature. There is a reason for everything in the world, such as Anna's student, who seems to be well-behaved with few words, why did he bury a chicken alive? When Anna had a chance to walk out, why did she give up in the end? How many people do not have the courage to face death well, nor the courage to live well. Most of the time, it is not life and death that defeats us, but the courage to face it. Although the other dialogue of the mortuary in the movie is a little impersonal, it is also sobering. If it is like the walking dead, why does it take up the few resources.
So, if you knew in advance what you were going to face, would you still have the courage to do it all over again?
