The one I love

After watching the film twice, I have some understanding of the film. At the beginning, when the psychotherapist introduced the holiday cabin to them, he said that the couples who came out of it were completely new, which echoed the ending. Sophie is a naive person who pursues romance. It just so happens that the fake Ethan is such a person. When she was in the wooden house, Sophie said that what the fake Ethan said and did was what she wanted, that is, the fake Ethan. Ethan is his ideal type. In the same way, the fake Sophie is an extremely virtuous person who is also generous and does not like to argue. For the real Ethan, this is his ideal type, but the real Ethan loves his wife, He loves the person his wife, not someone he fantasizes about who fits his wishes. At the end, the secret discovered by the real Ethan can be seen, this may be a conspiracy, the fake Sophie and Ethan may be a couple who were created or exist in a different time and space, their purpose is to divide the relationship. Couple, and then they can get out of the cabin, and finally fake Sophie's words to real Ethan can be seen. "He shouldn't have fallen in love with her, it should be that she no longer loves you, that will work, then we can get out, and then we can become you. Turning the two of you against each other will break you both. The best way, and then it's your turn to stay." "You wanted to go out last night, but couldn't, because the closer we got to getting out of here, the harder it would be for you to move." But fake Ethan fell in love with the real Sophie , which drives the fake Sophie crazy, she would rather be trapped in the cabin with the fake Ethan than go out with the real Sophie. But when she verified that the fake Ethan was really in love with the real Sophie, she gave up. Ethan has always loved his wife deeply. In the end, he fought for a wife by saying, I am your husband, you are my wife, I will not let you go, we are a mess, but I like us like this, I Not wanting to be perfect, I want to be who we are.
Obviously, the real Ethan and the fake Sophie have always loved their other half deeply and never wavered, but both the real Sophie and the fake Ethan are in love with their imaginary other half. When he finally left, the real Ethan chose the one who smiled at him, he thought Sophie had forgiven her, but in the end he knew that he chose the fake Sophie.
Back to reality, The one I love, is the person I love the person I hope for, or the person who is imperfect but has common memories with me, maybe different people will give different answers, a person who is naturally romantic Maybe they would rather be trapped and be with their loved ones, while rational people may be more inclined to stick to a long-term relationship, cracks appear in time, and hope to make up for it through their own efforts. The person I love may become the person I want.
The last two pictures are still a bit incomprehensible. The room where the piano appears and the clothes of Ethan at the end make me not sure if he is real or fake.

The marriage has made each other better, and it is no longer the same as when you first met, and the one you love is still me. The reason why marriage is the grave of love is probably the case.

The two acted very well. Ah, I knew it would be like this, alas, but once I had a little hope.

The One I Love quotes

  • [first lines]

Ethan: [retelling] So, we met at a party, and... it was magic. Within a half-hour we were driving up into this really nice neighborhood, and we were running down the stairs of some strangers back yard, and then we were swimming, and we were in love. What we didn't count on was that even though the lights were off, the owner of the home was there. And he came out screaming at us, and it was the greatest night of my life.

    Ethan: Ready?

EthanSophie: [they run and jump into the pool]

Ethan: [continuing his story] So me idea was, you know, let's try and re-create that moment.

  • [Ethan and Sophie sneak into a swimming pool]

Sophie: Do you think he's coming out?

Ethan: I'm sure. I'm sure. He heard us, right?

    [Calling for house owner]

    Ethan: Hello?

    [to Sophie]

Ethan: This is fun. Where is he?

    Sophie: Maybe he's not home.

    Ethan: Happy anniversary anyway.
