Just like the landmines laid by Japan in China, if young Japanese boys like flies can die at any time to clear the mines. I believe that the vast majority of Chinese people will have a sense of sympathy. Even if their predecessors committed heinous crimes, they should not be borne by young children. The movie looked so depressing. Teenagers didn't panic or feel overly sad when they saw their companions being killed by thunder, but they were much calmer. Because they are used to seeing death in war.
The national hatred brought by the war will be remembered by many people for a lifetime. As the women in the film say: because I took revenge on the Germans.
