The film is based on real historical events. The story takes place after the end of World War II, Germany was defeated, and a large number of captured German soldiers became prisoners. During the war, the Germans had planted more than 1.5 million mines on the west coast of Denmark, and some of the young German soldiers captured were forced to become live mine detectors. Under the leadership of the Danish officer Carl, the prisoners who were still children started demining operations. They used their hands, feet, and even their lives to purify the long coastline step by step. However, when the mission is over, when the surviving children are full of joy and think that they have finally escaped the hand of death and can return to their hometown, another equally cruel mission awaits them!
