A touch of ethical love, heavily marked by the times

Goro Miyazaki's films seem to have a bit of an ethical element. "Legend of the Earth Sea" is about killing a father, and this is a brother-sister love. Although one of the clues in the whole story is that the two young people try their best to find the truth, hoping to get rid of the tragic situation of brother-sister love, but the girl has made it clear that even if they are brothers and sisters, they still like it! Even in such an ethical plot, the expression is still light, and the people in the play are not suppressed or stubborn at all, and they handle this matter very calmly. Even if the last two are really brother and sister, it doesn't seem like a big deal. The days continue.
Compared with his master Lao Tzu, the plots of his two films are relatively simple, and there is no strong legend. Although there are dragons and magic in "Legend of the Earth Sea", nothing magical happens. . This movie, in particular, is basically a period drama. There should be a strong resonance for those who have experienced that era in Japan! But for me, a citizen of a big country separated by the sea, after losing these resonances, I feel that the whole story is too bland, and I don't see anything.
The male protagonist always feels a little bit of Miura Yukata, maybe because I watch too few Japanese movies and only know Miura Yukata. In addition, he is indeed not like Bai Yuan Chong. And I don't like Nagasawa Masami, she looks too mature and looks old.
At the end of the movie, there was applause in the theater. This is the greatest affirmation of this movie! Most of the audience stayed until the end, after listening to the ending song, and seeing the final subtitles - this story is purely fictional, and everyone laughed. No one expects the plot of a movie to be real, let alone an animated one!
When I saw it near the end, a sentence from a woman sitting in the back row can sum up the movie very well: "Isn't this a romance novel!".

4.5 Except for the failure of the brother-sister relationship at the end, all other emotions hit the most vulnerable part of my heart one by one. This film does not look at simple stories but uses the atmosphere and emotional connections outlined in the fantasy of reality. What is embarrassing is that Hai is such a perfect girl, she can only appear in anime, and can’t be portrayed in a live-action movie, let alone in life, we can only dream of her.
