true to the heart

Haven't seen a love movie so close to "love" in a long time...I'm fascinated by almost every minute

Every time the frame is frozen, it seems to be the most precious memory in the protagonist's heart, a photo.

The lines are literary, but more like a "left bank" style, the 42nd minute, Jim's childhood dream

Jules, Catherine, daughter, Jim, life on the mountain is like a poem, no plot, just music and poetry.

Juul said:

"I'm used to her infidelity,

But couldn't bear her leaving. "

"I have gradually started to give up having her,

and all my hopes in this world. "

Jim says:

"She jumped on other men's beds,

as if she jumped off the Seine"

"The longer the battle is fought,

The shorter the skirt. "

The film's drama is poor, almost completely breaking away from traditional story patterns, with no twists and turns.

It's like life, it's always changing, it's flowing, and you can't see the end...

At the end of the story, our challenge to life will be a failure...

Jules and Jim quotes

  • Jules: The most important factor in any relationship is the woman's fidelity. The husband's is secondary. Who was it who wrote, "Woman is natural, therefore abominable?"

Jim: Baudelaire, but he was describing a certain world.

Jules: Not at all. He spoke of women in general. What he says about a young girl is magnificent: "Horror, monster, assassin of the arts, little fool, little slut. The greatest idiocy combined with the greatest depravity." Wait. I'm not finished. This is marvelous: "I'm always astonished they allow women inside churches. What could they possibly have to say to God?"

    Catherine: You're both fools.

  • Jim: I understand.

Catherine: I don't want to be understood. It's almost dawn.
