In the first episode, Professor Proton, the little train, is afraid of birds, a devout religious mother, and these stalks are all connected to Sheldon's favorite meemaw, which has not appeared for the time being.
The problem is that this kid is not the super-cute cuteness we are familiar with except for his lines (and Sheldon's lines have long been a formula for the screenwriter), and his facial expressions and movements are seriously inconsistent with his big ears. It's not that I'm harsh. The first episode is really too mediocre to keep me watching and this episode is the best only Jimmy's narration is on the air. There is Modern Family before this is us.
