This movie is destined not to have a high box office, because the ones that can resonate with it are probably about to be confused!
There are many successful commercial films in 2019, holding various emotional signs, giving people all over the country a set of massages suitable for all ages, which can probably relax the muscles and activate the blood.
But this film is like a pair of acupuncture, if the symptoms are right, it can pierce the terminally ill soul. As my soul grows old with age, I was jerked to tears 5 times, and the last time I even cried shamelessly.
In the film, whether it is a professor who has learned a lot of money, or an ordinary guard Muncy, or Freddy who has only shown a few faces, or even Mrs. Merris who has fallen into the dust, the bland and simple words and deeds of these little people have nowhere to go. It does not shine with the brilliance of kind and noble humanity. These kaka lights almost blinded my eyes, and I couldn't help but sigh, this film is simply an ode to morality!
Compared with Liu Xin and his like in Jiang Ge's case, who were struggling to survive and see death, they were completely different.
But these can only make me feel emotional. What really made me cry is the real protagonist of the film, Miner, a military doctor who is a lunatic, genius, and murderer.
He spent the first half of his life saving the dead and the wounded in the war, and the second half of his life atonement, and this life of doing good and atonement is like a saint's pilgrimage.
Western Catholics repent of their sins, while Chinese Taoists believe in Taoism, which is natural and transcendental. I don't mean to compare, but faith does have a subtle effect. This subtly took root so deeply that Dr. Miner sighed that "it's not easy to be a believer in God". How difficult is it? He really used his life to repent of his unintentional mistakes, being strict and critical, and not deceiving himself.
It is a pity that the play did not put more effort into the lexicographic work, and lost a lot of novelty and interest. But I want to ask if this fun is comparable to seeing the real divine light in the mundane, rather than the shocking of quackery?
Someone sighs that the sudden love is superfluous. But this is not a snake, it is a dragon! How can a dragon not have strong limbs? Does love necessarily have to do with lust? Can't it be Platonic admiration, pure recognition of character, appreciation of talent? I think it is the unrelated love in the film that elevates the characters, the sinner to the saint.
The film is intertwined, and the three rings of atonement push Dr. Miner's journey of atonement to a dead end. When there is no redemption for sin, he can only choose exile. At that time, he was only one step away from the irrational beast...
The main ring of atonement: murder.
Severe hallucinations cause Dr. Miner to kill by mistake. When he found manslaughter, he used most of his property to help the victim's widow and orphan while accepting legal punishment. But this was far from bringing peace of mind to him, so he frantically devoted himself to compiling a dictionary in prison, not for the sake of fame or profit, just to exile his soul-devouring guilt and find a moment of peace for himself. Genius is born out of nothing but fanatical investment.
And where did the hallucinations that led to this tragedy come from?
Hidden Ring of Atonement: The Sin of Joanmian
The tattooing of Qiong's face is a form of torture, and it is also a brand of spiritual shame. It turns out that when Dr. Miner served in the military, he was asked to put a deserter's mark on a young deserter's face.
This brand was left on the young man's face and the doctor's heart. With empathy, he knew that this kind of branding would destroy the young man's life, and his heart could not bear this crime. From then on, the young man turned into a demon who chased and killed him, and appeared in his dreams every night.
As the Chinese say, if you do something wrong, and the ghost knocks on the door in the middle of the night, that's it. This is a kind heart that a murderous wicked person can never understand. The birth of a madman is just an inability to balance his own heart.
Madness is the road of redemption, which pushes him into the abyss of murder, and God pushes him again, and makes him fall into hell, to be sanctified in the fire of hell.
Sanctified Ring of Atonement: The Sin of Deprivation of Love.
Dr. Miner atones with most of his fortune and also tries to teach his widow, Mrs. Merris, literacy to help their children have a future. And this inadvertently commits a new crime, and Mrs. Merris falls in love with him.
This is where many people complain, and love comes a little unexpectedly. I also think it's a bit awkward. Dr. Mina has no beauty, no identity, why do you love him? I can only love his kindness, self-discipline and talent. The film here is indeed not in place.
But this flaw does not affect the sanctification of the physician. When he cried bitterly: I took the last thing from the dead, I killed him, and I took his lover. When he wrote "if love then what?" on his widow's love note, "then there is no redemption". In his dark night, in addition to the ghost of the young man, the ghost of the victim appeared. With a noble character like him, he has nowhere to go, and he can no longer save himself. He can only go completely insane and cut off his own reproductive organs under heavy crimes.
So far, his life is complete.
So far, he has passed the test of God.
If he was born when Jesus was preaching, the Twelve should have his place. This is what I think when I see it.
Immediately afterward, I was devastated by the tragedy of the saint and burst into tears as I watched the self-imposed beast doctor being treated with savage electric shocks.
But fortunately, God set up the road to the abyss to take away his soul, but the gentlemen in the world did not give up his body. Murray and his wife, editor-in-chief of the dictionary, Freddy, a member of the editors' association, Muncy, the caretaker, mentally ill The dean of the hospital, his widow Merris and their children, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill all extended a helping hand to him, making the audience feel that morality is everywhere and justice is at ease in the hearts of the people. A society with moral education, as well as hope and love, will not become mud.
The film is almost perfect. Except for the fascinating beginning, it is impossible for Miner to pursue and kill others, especially that person is still his inner demon. It is more reasonable to be pursued and killed instead of killing in self-defense.
