This is a movie I accidentally saw on the Internet, because I prefer horror movies and this movie is Spanish. A Spanish horror movie I liked before was called "Death Video", and then I fell in love with Spanish horror movies. Of course, the heroines of Spanish movies are more beautiful, which is one of the reasons.
"Dark Side" did not live up to my expectations for Spanish films. Although the plot is relatively simple, the director uses a unique narrative technique to tell the story in a very layered and creative way.
Before watching it, I thought this movie was just a pure horror movie, but "Dark Side" is not only a horror movie, but a movie that combines suspense, thriller, and love.
The spoilers begin below.
The plot is mainly a weak and explosive love story of one man and three women. A handsome conductor rents a villa on the outskirts of the city with his girlfriend because he wants to develop his music career in a city. Later, a female member of the band is deeply fascinated by the handsomeness of the male lead, and the male lead is also interested in him, and then the girlfriend discovers the secret flirt between them and is heartbroken. When the story is said, it is not difficult to find that the plot is too mediocre. If there are no innovative elements, this film will only be a love triangle relationship film with no novelty in the end. The real climax of the movie is only now, though. In order to punish the male protagonist for his infidelity, his girlfriend decided to pretend to be missing, and the core elements of the whole movie finally appeared! It turns out that the owner of this suburban villa is actually an engineer, and the villa is also from his craftsmanship, and the special feature of the villa is that there is a secret room in the master room. The girlfriend thought that she had to pretend to "leave without saying goodbye" to test or prove the hero's most loyal loyalty, so she decided to go to this secret room to implement her own "big test" plan. But she was careless and left the only key that could open the entrance to the secret room in the master room...
Now let's talk about the secret room of this villa. The entrance to the secret room is a mirror in the master room, the switch for the entrance is in the bookshelf in the room, and a key that looks like an ornament is the key to unlocking the entrance. There was only a bed, a desk, a chair, a faucet, and a few expired cans in the secret room (the girlfriend got over with these expired cans). It was a secret room with very bad conditions. There are a total of two places in the secret room where you can see every move of the people in the master room. They are the mirror that comes in and the mirror in the bathroom of the master room. They are special mirrors that cannot be seen from the outside and can be seen from the inside.
Back to the plot.
In fact, the above-mentioned spoilers did not appear until about halfway through the film. This is a unique narrative technique used by the director as I mentioned earlier.
Here is the beginning of the movie.
The plot skips to the fact that the girlfriend "mysteriously" disappears, and the male protagonist is annoyed by watching the video that his girlfriend deliberately left behind. The sad and handsome conductor did not wait for his girlfriend's "change of mind" in the end (the girlfriend in the secret room anxiously wanted to get in touch with the conductor so that she could escape from the secret room, but the soundproofing of the secret room was too good), he I had no choice but to go to the bar for a drink and mourn the love that has passed away. Then another heroine appeared (in fact, this is the first heroine to appear), let's call her F here. F is a little waiter in the bar. She quickly noticed the handsomeness of the conductor and soon they started a new relationship. The conductor took F to the villa, and what happened later will be omitted by 10,000 words. Bar.
It should have been a few days (I think no more than three days at most), F accidentally found out that there was a vague noise coming from the bathroom washbasin, F was very surprised, she suspected that the old villa was haunted (saying Really, I felt that way too). Personally, I think F is very simple, otherwise, it would not be so easy for the conductor to get it. Of course, we can also say that she is a slut. But I still think F is very simple and cute, because there is a scene in the movie where F somehow (I forgot the reason, sorry, but F was very happy at the time) rushed to the big bed in the master room and jumped around, With a happy smile on her face, what a lovely girl this is. After a round of mad jumping, F finally found the key to the entrance to the secret room. The girlfriend who was trapped in the secret room didn't know how happy she was to see this scene. She was very anxious and wanted to contact F, but in the end it was unsuccessful.
Let's move the plot a little faster. F and the trapped girlfriend finally got in touch, and F learned that the key was the key to unlocking the secret room. After hesitating for a moment, F still did not open the secret room. But soon, F still opened the entrance to the secret room. The police who had been investigating the disappearance of the conductor's girlfriend showed F the photo of the conductor flirting with the beauties of the band. F finally recognized the man's true face. , F felt that he had to leave him, but first, he had to rescue his girlfriend who was trapped in the secret room.
"F opened the secret room, but finally found that he was still too late. The trapped girlfriend finally starved to death. The police found the body of the girlfriend, thinking that the conductor deliberately imprisoned others and arrested her, and the end credits popped up." This is the ending I imagined.
But the director didn't do it, he did better.
The real ending is that F opened the secret room and was stunned by his girlfriend who pretended to have been dead for a long time. The girlfriend escaped from the secret room, and then locked F in the secret room.
Having said so much, the story is finally over. I just want to share some of my thoughts after watching the movie.
In fact, everyone has his dark side, I have it, you have it, he has it, she has it, and I can't say that I don't have a moment of evil.
The conductor certainly has his dark side. You see how gentle and considerate he is in front of his two girlfriends, but behind his girlfriends? However, he hid a stealing object, flirted with text messages day and night, and judged for himself whether he rolled over the sheets or not. I think there is.
The conductor's first girlfriend certainly had her dark side. She hated F who stole her boyfriend very much, and in the secret room she kept cursing F to vent her hatred. But when she saw that F got the key to the secret room, she immediately stopped cursing and hoped that F could rescue herself from the secret room. In the end, she tried her best to lure F to open the secret room by pretending to be dead (actually, F wouldn't care if the conductor had an affair if the police hadn't investigated that the conductor was having an affair), and then knocked F unconscious and trapped him in the secret room. That's the dark side of this woman.
F also has her dark side, and I think her dark side is the deepest because she is the purest. Why do you say that? Because people who have the purest side are often the most terrifying and darkest people, how unexpected the transformation of those people is. It turns out that the innocent face hides a face that is even more hideous than the devil. You are not used to her transformation. devoured by its dark side. F may be this kind of person. She can trap a living person in a secret room so that she can live with her lover. At that time, F never thought about the woman's life or death. La. This is the dark side of F.
Where there are angels, there are demons, there are positives and negatives, and we all have a bright side and a dark side. In many cases, the change between light and darkness, good and evil, is only a matter of thought. It is good to think twice before acting and have a clear conscience.
