The whole movie was just "a bit too much" for me

The film tells the story of a psychologist who simulated a prison experiment in a school with several partitions and a corridor for two weeks. And recruit the subjects in the society, and if the subjects participate in this simulated prison experiment, they can get a certain commission every day.
The subjects were all students. The top prison is held by the doctor's assistant. Then it describes what people will become in power and environment.
This film gave me the feeling that someone picked an apple, and it was still a rotten apple. Then he ran to me as if to take credit, and said how hard he climbed the tree, how long he held it in the palm of his hand, and watched the whole process of decay. Thrilling, twists and turns bizarre. But I just can't get the slightest bit of interest. I'm also not interested in knowing how he rotted, because I've known for a long time that apples rot away from fruit trees. And he's just an apple and something that doesn't cost much. Why should I care?

The Stanford Prison Experiment quotes

  • Jesse Fletcher: You brought me here to legitimize this experiment and there's nothing legitimate about this place, Phil.

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: You're right. You're right. I didn't explain it well. Prisons, they represent a loss of freedom, literally and symbolically.

Jesse Fletcher: Yeah, but that does not explain why they're wearing dresses. They're wearing dresses, Phil.

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: Yes, I understand. Uh, we're trying to strip away their individuality. Make them uniform. Feminize them.

    Jesse Fletcher: Feminize them?

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: Yes. Feminize them. Take away all the things that make them them. You see, we're trying to understand how an institution affects an individual's behavior. We're trying to do something... We're trying to do something good.

  • Karl Vandy: It's easy for you to say, 'Oh, I wouldn't have acted that way', but you don't know. That's - that's the truth. You don't know. And now I know what I'm capable of, and it hurts.
