But this movie is very infuriating.
First of all, in terms of the movie alone, it is undoubtedly a very good movie.
However, my text below is not about the artistry of the film, but about the experiment itself. So, it's not even a movie review.
From the very beginning of the movie, I learned that a certain Calle recruited volunteers for his "scientific experiment", and then deceived a lot of dazed college students. In fact, it is not difficult to see from the Internet that this beast is famous internationally for its "notorious" experiment. Then the college students were tossed a coin and divided into two groups for the reward of 15$. This is also the randomness of the experiment. One group of prisoners and one group of prison guards, because no one wants to be a prison guard.
Then, these prisoners were successively arrested and jailed for the established "crimes" of the experiment and given corresponding numbers. Then the experiment officially started.
We can see here that these volunteers actually came with the attitude of making money, and they are innocent, and of course do not need any self-blame. Just like walking through the motions, you and I have a good time and go home. But things are not so simple. It can be seen in the movie that the prison guards entered the experiment with a rookie face at the beginning, and they were timid. Then the first prisoner was stripped, sprayed with pesticides, and a series of a bit over-the-top fiddling. Everyone thought it was fun just now, and the prisoner passed it with patience, but the prison guards gradually became more serious. It gradually developed into a constant conflict between them.
It is not difficult to see that the main contradiction of the conflict is the excessiveness of the prison guards. For example, a prison guard bullied 8612, and he went back and told everyone, and then other people also thought that 8612 was very easy to bully. Otherwise, I would come to play at night, so I can't A follow-up conflict averted, then escalated, leading to collective resistance from the prisoners, and then the guards were unable to seek support from Calle. Call the Beast did not say much, the implication is that you can do it, you really just play, the right is in your hands.
So later there were all kinds of confinement and all kinds of thorns. In fact, this can be tolerated. The most unbearable thing is that when 8612 asked for help from Beast, he wanted to show that the prison guards in this experiment went too far. You might as well think about it in a different position. I, Nima, volunteered to participate in your scientific experiment. For the money, but you don't need to kill me. It's like you want to test the "digestion process of people eating food", Nima asked the beast to call you to feed you and eat shit. Can you bear it? What's more, at the beginning, they said that they were not guilty at all, and they were just the name of the experiment, so when the beast and his friend who claimed to have been in prison for 15 years accused 8612 of being cowardly and incompetent, right? A bit inhuman. As for Beast's friends, if you boast that you have been in the classroom for 15 years, I don't believe that you entered the room innocently. I don't believe you were so arrogant when you entered. Therefore, everyone can basically ignore any evaluation of this person's experiments, and there is no comparability.
Then, the contradictions continued to escalate, and a priest actually came out. He really learned a lot. How could he know that this priest was playing a real game? He actually asked you if you had a lawyer, and then called the beast all kinds of embarrassment. Eat the priest.
After all, it was all sorts of bullying. . .
In general, the original intention of Calle Beast's experiment is good, but the scientificity of his experiment is really questionable, and the design of the experiment is also full of loopholes (I don't know why it is still held high in the field of psychology), just It's like an old professor in a movie asking him, what is your independent variable? Then the beast was stunned and said, I am sorry? Obviously he wasn't ready for it himself, and then all the restlessness.
In fact, from the perspective of the rigor of the experiment, there is really no need for the beast to clean up such a place in the school. He might as well design it like this:
in a real prison, select a few new cells, then a few new prisoners, and a few new prisoners. A new prison guard, then everything is in line with the facts. If he had to be more demanding, he could even select first-time prisoners as his research subjects.
Renee's experiments at school and his own handling methods can be said to lack humanity. He pays too much attention to the experiment itself and ignores the scientific nature of the experiment and "people".
