What's so scary about the Stanford Prison Experiment? In some ways it is similar to real life. And where is the source of this similarity? Cowardice and obedience, selfishness and madness, indifference and greed in the heart of man. I am kind, and I believe that many people are also kind, but it was not until I watched this movie that I realized clearly that when dealing with certain things, my performance was not kind, but cowardice! Living in a society with many distortions, most of us can only follow the rules, but do we lose our human dignity by just walking? This movie gave me chills, it reminded me not to set up a Stanford prison for myself, even if the prison exists, I disdain to be a prison guard and not a prisoner. I will always remind myself, never put others higher than me, never lower myself in front of anyone, never lose to the weak part of my character, never obey others and lose myself, never Forget that you are in control of your own actions!

The Stanford Prison Experiment quotes

  • Jesse Fletcher: You brought me here to legitimize this experiment and there's nothing legitimate about this place, Phil.

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: You're right. You're right. I didn't explain it well. Prisons, they represent a loss of freedom, literally and symbolically.

Jesse Fletcher: Yeah, but that does not explain why they're wearing dresses. They're wearing dresses, Phil.

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: Yes, I understand. Uh, we're trying to strip away their individuality. Make them uniform. Feminize them.

    Jesse Fletcher: Feminize them?

Dr. Philip Zimbardo: Yes. Feminize them. Take away all the things that make them them. You see, we're trying to understand how an institution affects an individual's behavior. We're trying to do something... We're trying to do something good.

  • Karl Vandy: It's easy for you to say, 'Oh, I wouldn't have acted that way', but you don't know. That's - that's the truth. You don't know. And now I know what I'm capable of, and it hurts.
