American Honey

The top three of the year, the last surprise of 2016! I'm really touched. It's really unexpected that I can see such a great movie with full marks at the end of this year.

163 minutes, but it doesn't feel long at all, every minute is enjoyable. From collecting garbage at the beginning, to various things happening on the road in the middle, and finally sinking into the water. love it.

A pseudo-documentary road movie? This is an American girl's film about independence, about dreams, about growing up, about realizing her own worth. The heroine finally escaped the shackles of her family, escaped the depressing world, and lived out her splendor and her youth.

For the first time, I saw that the background music is really inserted with "background" music, so that the music can be better integrated into the film and characters. It is a very special attempt, but the effect is surprisingly good. Follow-up character-style handheld shooting allows the audience to see the story from the perspective closest to the protagonist's point of view, and I don't think the camera is too shaken.

This group of people are not bad people, but a group of wanderers who work and enjoy life. They support each other, share with each other, and live together for a common purpose. The part where everyone sings "American Honey" at the end of the film is definitely the finishing touch! In the end, the heroine walked into the water, and Nirvana was reborn, and it ended perfectly.

How long. Finally see Shia LaBeouf again...

The lady is so pretty!

  • Jake: Prove to me your name is Star, and I'll give it to you.

Star: It was my mom's idea. She said we're all made from stars. From Death Stars.

  • Homeowner: Hey, I don't allow language like that in my house.

Star: [first sales call] Well, I don't live here.
