What is the difference between the Pope and other ordinary people? Is it really because he is closer to God? Is it really because he has a stronger faith than others?
"I don't have sins. My only sin is that my conscience doesn't accuse me of anything."
We ordinary people place our hopes on external things: other people, new places, new ideas, new movies, etc. Rarely do we really pin our hopes on ourselves. Trusting others is always easier than trusting yourself. We would rather believe that others have superpowers than believe that we have the ability to control our own destiny.
