If you are used to the fast-paced Hollywood blockbusters with ups and downs, it may be difficult to adapt to the rhythm of this film. For nearly two hours, everything seemed to slow down, time slowed down, rhythm slowed down, and the whole person was immersed in a very comfortable atmosphere.
By describing the love story of three men and women, the film reveals such a truth: red tape and conservative customs cannot stop young people's youthful vitality and pursuit of freedom. This reason seems to be very natural today, there is no need to explain it specially, and there is no need to make a movie. But in Britain more than 100 years ago, this was not the case. Maybe it really inspired a group of young men and women.
The film has an elegant feel, and there is no lack of romance. Whether it is the old town of Florence or the English countryside, there is a kind of simplicity and natural beauty, which makes modern urban people yearn for the idyllic life. At the end of the film, a couple kissing by a window with a view is like a landscape painting.
In all love stories through the ages, we can see that you can deceive everyone, but you can't deceive yourself anyway, and this story is no different.
PS: The Emersons and Cousin Charlotte both have some quirky personalities, but if you look at them kindly, you'll see the sparkle in them.
