Adapted from the famous 1986 British old film, the plot is simple. Audiences spoiled by the fast pace of American films will definitely feel that the plot is slow and slow, but it is solidly moving forward. Sometimes it makes you scratch your head, makes you wait a little anxious, but suddenly comes a surprise.
In addition to the beautiful Florence, exquisite and complicated floor-length dresses, and a bunch of old actors such as Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, and of course the young Helena Bonham Carter. All three went on to play major roles in Harry Potter (Maggie Smith as the magician professor, Judy as the disgusting headmistress, and Helena as the mad villain witch .) In the two films, they both naturally played completely different roles, and they were both very good actors. Unlike American films, British films are always arrogant and reserved.
The portrayal of love is also conservative and restrained, more platonic, and only kiss scenes are filmed. The only vivid scene is the three men swimming naked on a whim, playing like children in the small pond, and being accidentally bumped by the ladies passing by... This scene was shot so naturally, without deliberate exposure or avoidance. . In the supporting roles, Lucy's younger brother and the Italian coachman are also handsome.
» About Helena Bonham Carter
I picked this movie for Helena (watched her "Howard Manor" the other day), and she's one of my favorite actresses.
I always feel that Helena and Johnny Depp are very close in temperament (God, they are both Geminis!). I love both of them: go their own way and even go crazy, thin and skinny, messy hair, heavy dark circles, pale and thin face, gothic neuroticism, decadent and innocent, amazingly explosive, fragile and destructive beauty, The ever-changing and grotesque characters are easy to come by, and their eyes always hide a lot of stories. (They're both regulars in Tim Burton films, and it seems that only this director can burst their dark and grotesque.)
In the early works, they were all so dazzlingly pure and beautiful.
Like Johnny Depp, Helena's credits are numerous, including Fight Club, Wings of the Dove, Sweeney Todd, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The King's Speech, Alice in Wonderland and more than 50 films.
