When the dandelions are flying, spring arrives in the town. The arrival of spring seems to be the beginning of a boy's puberty. A manic father, a conservative mother, a flamboyant red-clothed beauty, a psychotic uncle, and a raucous town dweller, these flawed but vivid characters make up this uniquely prose-like film. Those nonsense times are so beautiful, making people sigh of worry-free youth. The dazzling sunshine of the Apennine Peninsula exudes a lazy temperament, like the tone of the whole movie, with a dreamlike feeling.
I really like this kind of Italian impression, people shouting, khaki walls, blue sea, golden sunshine, full of vitality.
Of course, everything I've written is far from reaching the depths of master movies, but I'm not writing this article to study the meaning and purpose of those shots, I just want to write a short essay for a leisurely afternoon.
