Distinctive personality is the selling point of this TV series

I've been watching the American version of "Ugly Betty" for the past two days, and I'm enjoying it. It looks like the TV series version of "The Devil Wears Prada".

There's something interesting about the people working at the fashion magazine Mode, not necessarily as glamorous as people think. The income of those employees may not be as dazzling as their clothes and bags. Daniel Meade, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, once had only $327 in his pocket, and he almost couldn't even pay the rent after his company credit card was cut. And it's also facing a crisis of getting guests.
Some things are not as good as we thought. Any company is.

And Betty was hired as an assistant by NYW magazine. In fact, she found that although people laughed at her in the previous "Mode" magazine, most of them didn't like her, but at least they would show it and tell Betty: I hate you, You are such a rustic woman! But in NYW, or what she said was false, it was all about taking advantage. By contrast, Mode's people are at least sincere.
Does this mean that there is a contrast, in fact, everything around you is happy?

Or a successful series or movie has a prominent feature, that is, the protagonists are so distinctive. Even Marc, who is a sissy in ugly betty, can play the sissy so well that you will never forget him. Compared to the culture of moderation that surrounds us, this feeling is simply wonderful. Sometimes, the personality thing is really important, at least no matter what you do, people will not forget you.
