Kaguya Story

I like the works carefully crafted by Isao Takahata. I like the artistic conception of landscape and ink, like the soundtrack, like the story, like the final ending song and its meaning. In short, I like this movie very much.

When I see a movie that I have experience with, sometimes I can’t help but want to record the feeling of watching and some thoughts in the process of watching, but I really can’t say much about this work, it’s not bad, it’s just because it’s so good , so even more words. And I am full of respect for this work that took 14 years of effort and the old man who passed away, so I don't think I can be objective about this work. But I'm very satisfied with this movie that I've been looking forward to seeing for a long time now.

Three and a half. Both sensational and poetic are great, but in the end, they violated the aesthetic principles of oriental narratives. Not only did they not leave blanks, but they had to tell the story completely, so complete that the gods descended, and the earth was round. It's really a piece of mouse droppings that ruined a whole pot of porridge.

I really like the handling of the finale. This adaptation sublimates the original simple story into a very poetic, sad but not sad, excellent work.

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya quotes

  • The Princess Kaguya: [singing] Go round, come round, come round... come round, oh distant time. Come round, call back my heart. Come round, call back my heart. Birds, bugs, beasts, grass, trees, flowers. Teach me how to feel. If i hear that you pine for me, i will return to you.
