Moore's greatest contribution

His greatest contribution is not the analysis of the financial crisis and the American economic system, but the awakening of the definition of Americans.
Yes, the Declaration of Independence does not define this country as free markets, capitalism, and derivatives. The Declaration of Independence simply says that democracy, rights, rights of the people, rights equal to the duty to pay taxes.
As someone who studied finance, watching this movie in American cinemas, I can't say Moore was right on all of his points, but I still strongly think it's a great movie. Because he has been asking the audience a question over and over again: Who are we?
I also tried to ask myself, and found that I didn't find the answer, and I couldn't find the answer for my country.
What do we Chinese people believe in?
Who are we?
Who am I?
Is Goldman Sachs really my dream?
Democracy is not necessarily a cure for capitalism, it's just what the American people need that determines what they need to do.
Yet one person one vote didn't solve their problems, and dear Obama couldn't realize his dream of capitalism and communism. The world is still 1% who determine the course of history.
I just asked myself, am I really just a free rider?

Don't say that this is just the complaints of angry youths in the United States, many things can be linked to domestic affairs. The United States is so introspective, and China should.

Capitalism: A Love Story quotes

  • Michael Moore: You know, I can't really do this anymore, unless those of you who are watching this in the theater want to join me. I hope you will. And please... speed it up.

  • Michael Moore: [Regarding the February, 2009 crash of Continental flight 3407 in Buffalo, New York] No one survived the crash, and 50 people lost their lives. The Media focused on the actions of the pilots.

Continental air crash reporter: Capt. Marvin Renslow and First Officer Shaw were chatting about their careers.

Michael Moore: "Careers" is a euphemism for what the pilots were really talking about: how little they were paid, and how overworked they were. There would be no discussion in the Media about why we have an economic system that allows a pilot to be paid less than a manager at Taco Bell.
