5-Star

Haven't rated a movie 5-star for long.

This is one of those movies that touches you heart. You feel bad for the character and you want to become one of them to change the circumstance. But this movies shows us the virtue in human beings but not the evil.

The director/writers/actors/actresses has paid attention to detail. All the props, actor's gestures, shots and conversations contributed to building up and shaping the character and the plot.

The name - "the visitor" . All the characters were each other at some point of the movie. As in life, everyone is a visitor of our life, people come and go, only a very few of them get to stay and become permanent guests.

Walter, the old, widowed professor, has been living his life in a terribly routine way for like 20 years. He didn't give any thought about it, about the meaning of what he has been doing, the purpose of life, until he met Tarek. Walter realized all he has been doing "don't mean anything to him". "I pretend. I pretend I am busy, pretend that I am writing, pretend that I am reading."

"I didn't do anything ."

From the theme of the lonely soul of an American independent producer, a goalless old professor interweaves many visitors (or intruders depending on the state of mind), grafted on the post-9/11 American policy critique. Warm and delicate, continuing the advantages of American independent production, but ending with angry drums, the pattern is better than the director's previous work.

Dramatic conflict is not strong, but let people watch it quietly, life is like a calm lake, faint
