I believe this movie should have been quite scary 14 years ago, but unfortunately it can't stand the test of time, the scary techniques are outdated, the red, unclear, flickering ghosts, and there is no fluctuation in the heart. The music and sound effects are also scary for scary's sake, and the audience's startle threshold has long been raised to nowhere.
I think the classic horror movie is not scaring people with scary images. Instead, it uses the unknown to lure the audience into discovering their inner fears.
In the end, I couldn't help but want to complain about the actor's appearance. Except for the male lead, the other castings are really hard to describe.
