The first time, very unusual, although the director will say, just straight-line understanding. But it consists of more than a dozen very personal memory/dream fragments, with some recurring elements and scenes: the wind blowing through the bushes on the edge of the forest, spilled milk and potatoes. To a certain extent, listening to the trivialities of other people's lives is very tiring for me, but the interspersed grand music and poetry, lining the storytelling, will alleviate it to a certain extent (probably the need for subtitles). There are young and old mothers in the film. In my understanding, they are the wife and mother of the protagonist in the film. This kind of dual-track mother and son (the protagonist has a bad relationship with the old mother, and is often said by the wife / The young mother is independent. Strongly raising two children) structure, to highlight the director's nostalgia and compassion for his mother. And through different fragments, to recall, mixed with historical background and various suggestive metaphors, still need to be considered, but the core is stable. In the end, the young mother and the old mother returned to the farm (very natural scenery of the countryside in Soviet movies), without the pressure and troubles of life, they both returned with a smile and a small story of separation.
To quote a letter from a reader in 'Sculpting Time': "If two people can experience the same thing, even once, they can understand each other, even if one of them lives in the old times and the other is Growing up in the age of electrification. God gave humans the ability to understand 'experience the common impulses of all human beings - their own as well as those of others.' The scene in which I was asked if I would like to live away from my mother and father is probably mine, Although I am the other way around. It's a pity that my story doesn't have such a peaceful conversation with Burning Bush and Moses. But at least I'm not the only one who has encountered such a problem, and the hesitant answer is also very kind.
