Sometimes it’s because a person likes a movie, a song, a book, a brand... For the movie "Once Upon a Time in India", it's all because of its starring Amir Khan. The 224-minute movie makes me Sometimes I laughed, sometimes cry, and sometimes excited, but after reading it, I think more about work, life, and life.
In 1893, the mighty sun never set empire invaded India, and despite years of drought, it still imposed harsh taxes on Indian villagers. For a while, the villagers were horrified, angry, but more helpless. One day, the handsome commander Russell found the youth (Amir Khan) proposed an unfair bet. If Amir Khan’s team can beat the British team, he can promise the three-year tax exemption. However, if it fails, all villages and towns in India will have to triple the miscellaneous taxes. The film revolves around this bet about the sublimation of individuals, teams, countries, and clan, a wonderful storyline, a hearty and exciting ball game, and the difficult victory of the final ball game. It represents this India’s request to the British colonial rule and also criticizes India. Due to its own class issue, this film was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film for the first time.
Today I mainly want to talk about Amir Khan’s perception of forming a team to defeat a strong and professional British team.
one. A common disaster: the whole village is faced with the drought and lack of food. The British army inhumanely imposes double taxes. They are angry, afraid but helpless. They can only pray to God and ask the king for help. , But God is only a belief, and the king is powerless. Facing the unreasonable British army, Amir Khan agreed to a condition that seemed impossible to complete, but the premise was that if he succeeds, he can get a three-year tax exemption, and his failure will increase to three. The double tax, hesitating, hesitating, helpless Amir Khan finally agreed, because this is the worst result but also the last hope.
two. Villagers’ response: Facing Amir Khan’s stupid actions, the villagers rejected and opposed him, and even villagers from other villages and towns came to beat him. Faced with the hostility of the people, Amir Khan used actions to prove the correctness of his actions, and he began to produce For cricket board, I found the children in the village to practice in front of everyone. Although the practice was terrible at the beginning, every time the improvement, every time the persistence and perseverance, the villagers began to doubt, some people began to recognize Amir Khan’s This can change the destiny of the villagers.
three. Forming a team: Facing a common disaster, with the common goal of defeating the British army, the only way to survive in despair is to unite and fight against Hangzhou. Amir Khan has become the leader to realize this wish, and there are more and more villages in the village. The people who are willing to join the team to change the status quo, coupled with the help of the British army leader Russell’s sister, made the villagers see hope. The villagers put aside their previous prejudices and united in learning cricket against the British army in Hangzhou.
Four. Team crisis: Because of the class discrimination in India, when Amir Khan chose the half-handicapped as the No. 11 player, he was opposed by all the villagers, and even wanted to disband the team and give up the game. Russell’s sister was discovered by Russell to teach the villagers privately. In the cricket matter, due to personal grievances, the internal team also appeared insiders. The big gap in the score for the first time made the villagers disappointed and even desperate, and the team was at a loss for a while.
five. Conquer the crisis and win the victory: Facing the various crises encountered by the team, Amir Khan did not complain like the villagers. The fear is more through rational persuasion to help the rapes resolve the crisis and devote himself to the game. The first defeat made him even more. Utilizing the strength of the mourning soldiers to the extreme, the deadly goal made everyone nervous at the end of the game. I thought it was a failure but the referee made a fair decision. The opponent fouled the ball and the last ball restarted. Mir Khan succeeded in turning defeat into victory under the pressure that the whole village had no life to speak of.
I feel the most valuable thing about this film is: how a leader can unite a team and achieve victory in battle!
Facing a common disaster, having a common mission becomes a prerequisite for team formation. Leaders sometimes propose tasks and goals that seem impossible to accomplish. The team may reject or oppose it, but with the leader’s persistence and perseverance and rational argumentation With practice, the team will gradually doubt, accept, recognize, and execute. What the leader has to do is to remove prejudice, use only talents, and maximize the team’s strengths, talents and potentials. The team is for the common mission and common goals. Do your best to complete the seemingly impossible task. Of course, completing a difficult dream will not go smoothly. When encountering a crisis, the leader must have a clear understanding, find the problem, lead the team to overcome one by one, and let the team be Seeing hope in despair, turning pessimism into motivation, and transferring all anger and power to the opponent's camp, then it becomes possible to achieve those seemingly impossible goals.
Finally, I recommend Amir Khan’s three classic works "Three Stupies Raise Bollywood", "My God", "Wrestle, Dad"
