"The Phantom of the Opera" is seen as a classic, but I personally think it is far from the classic. When the huge chandelier was pulled up, and the dilapidated opera house returned to its former glory, accompanied by the magnificent soundtrack, I was shocked, ready to enjoy a feast, like black and white pictures turned into gorgeous colors. I thought this was going to be my favorite musical. But as the plot continued, I stepped out of the movie. I forced myself to continue to immerse myself in it, but as the story progressed, it failed, and I was completely speechless, and felt a pity, how could the story be so poorly designed for a musical with such a gorgeous soundtrack, lyrics, and costumes? The heroine has no other flash points except her beautiful voice, but the phantom is a complete pervert, and the plot and emotions in it are even more boring and sometimes bizarre. But for its beautiful and breathtaking music, I give it four stars.
In fact, the plots of musicals are very simple, but good musicals are really infectious. "Song in the Rain" and "The Sound of Music", including "Moulin Rouge", are vivid, full and natural.
