In the hardest and most unhappy times of my life,

"I" returned to the bottom of the sea when I was a child.

Saw this octopus for the first time.

Later, it became "my" octopus teacher.

"I" dive into the bottom of the sea every day to meet the octopus.

To feel it up close, observe it, learn it...

day by day,

"I" have seen it:

curiously touching the camera;

Hold "my" hand with "hand" and suction cup;

To see it play leisurely with the fish;

See its various magical strategies and wisdom of preying and changing colors;

Seeing the weakness of its "hand" being bitten off by a shark;

After seeing it, it grows beautiful and delicate little "hands";

Seeing it alive again and regaining its usual vitality;

See it mate and spawn with another octopus;

And then weakly await death;

see it being eaten by other organisms;

I see its little little offspring...

"I", see its life.

"We" are deeply connected.

Its "hand" was broken, and "I" seemed to be amputated;

It couldn't eat and "I" even tried to feed it.

"I" will never be forgotten,

It holds "me" and clings to "me".

It swims behind "me" and chases "me".

It trusts "I" so much,

It heals the "me" deeply.

it, gone,

It has never been far from...

We are all one.

    The most impressive part: After Craig got separated from her because of that mistake, he went into the water day after day to collect clues, do tag analysis, and finally found her again. There are too many "sacred revelations" hidden in nature, and the thoughtful people who are good at thinking are like the messengers of heaven - finding the key to decryption began with that chance encounter.

    I don't really like this kind of documentary about human self-moving.

My Octopus Teacher quotes

  • Craig Foster: What she taught me was to feel... that you're part of this place, not a visitor. That's a huge difference.

  • [first lines]

    Craig Foster: A lot of people say an octopus is like an alien. But the strange thing is, as you get closer to them, you realize that we're very similar in a lot of ways.
