One day you will learn to say goodbye

Saw the film on a flight to Helsinki, ten years after it first came out.

After all, it was a movie ten years ago. That year, Natalie hadn't acted as a black swan, and Uncle Hoffman had not made a great work for a long time. Neither of them seemed to be in the golden age of their acting careers.

There were several Harry Potter films at that time, and there were also many classics in the fantasy children's film industry at that time. In 2005 alone, there were: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Magic Nanny McPhee, and The Chronicles of Narnia. . . . . . It's not a great movie by any measure, and it's not even a good one to mention today, ten years later. The reason why Finnair has this film may be that it is a children's film and the copyright fee is relatively low.

After saying so many movies, I still want to write a serious review for this movie, because this movie seems to be written by loving parents to grown-up children. What kind of innocence or toys? It's the magic of parents. Parents know that one day they will leave their children, and this day may be much earlier than the children think, and accepting this matter itself is a kind of tempering.

The owner of the toy store, Magrim, claims to have lived more than 200 years old. All the toys in this toy store are invented by Magrim himself, and because Magrim himself is a magician, the whole building is so There are many toys that can be moved by themselves, countless plush toys, as well as planetary orbits, boomers, dolls, children usually spend the whole day here and linger. Margrim's store manager is Molly, played by Natalie. Molly was a piano genius as a child, but for some unknown reason, her piano skills stopped at the moment when she was praised as a genius when she was a few years old, and never improved. Molly works as a store manager in a toy store. Although she is very happy and does a good job herself, she still can't forget her dream of being a pianist. Like all young people in their early twenties, she is full of confusion about the future and life. There are countless questions without answers. Of course, this is the norm for young people, and it is not a big deal. Everything was just like this dreamy, happy, and spent without any worries.

Until one day, Magrim said to Molly, I'm leaving. Molly thought he was going to take a long vacation at first, and she also supported Magrim to take a vacation. After all, he had never rested for more than two hundred years. But Magrim said, I am going, leaving, leaving this world forever. Molly is very sad, and at the same time the toy store.

The toy store is the saddest. The brightly colored walls began to weather and blacken early, and many toys did not work well, which scared the children. Magrim was still so cheerful and enthusiastic, like an old playboy, he told Molly that he was going to give her shop to Molly and let Molly inherit it. Molly, on the other hand, thinks that she has no ability to accept and run the store, because she has no magic and can't make the toys move by themselves. Magrim handed Molly a large block of wood and told her that this block was magic, and as long as you believed that you had magic, the block would move.

Before Magrim left, Molly was so heartbroken that she even sent him to the hospital in order not to let Magrim leave, thinking that he would have to stay forever. Magrim told Molly that his departure was something that had already been decided. He had already decided to leave on that day, and nothing would change.

Molly slowly accepts this reality and spends a great day with him on the last day he is leaving, buying giant bubble wrap and dancing on it with Magrim, bursting for the bubble happy voice.

That moment came, not bad for a second, in the galactic beauty, with a strange sound, Magrim's chair slowly fell down, and he disappeared into the air. The toy store is dead, it is really dead, the whole world has become extremely dark, Molly even sold it once, Molly is like dead, can no longer face the toy store, and always thinks that she can't be a magician. Fortunately, Molly has two close friends by her side, one is a boring accountant who doesn't believe in magic at all, and the other is a little boy who completely believes in magic but is slightly autistic and likes to collect hats. With the help of these two men, Molly turns the big block and has the magic to control the toy.

The story itself is not a particularly interesting story, and Natalie has not grown up yet. Her acting skills are exaggerated, but it can be pushed aside, but she sees a proposition that is difficult for adults to accept: when did you learn to accept your parents? left.

The toy store is like the life that parents give us, everything is logical, Magrim is the heart of parents who love their children, always smiling, optimistic, looking at their children, hoping to give them more. But, suddenly one day, the children will grow up, and the parents will leave. When the parents leave has become a really important topic. Like Molly in the film, crying and fussing is unacceptable at first, and the toy store is no longer functioning well. Later, Molly accepted Magrim's departure, but when the time for him to leave really came, Molly still couldn't face it properly, and even when he left, her life was a mess.

This is for sure, I think everyone who has lost a loved one has had a moment like this, in the first days, life was very dark. But life always goes on, who will light up the dark and sad? Those who are alive and still love themselves deeply. By the time the toy store is finally bright and going, Molly has grown up because she's up to the task and has grown-up magic.

At the moment Magrim left, I seemed to feel that the world was over, everything was over, and it was coming to an end. Molly's inability to recover from her injury seemed a given. But seeing the once bustling toy store now dead like a grave, it made Magrim feel even more sad. Fortunately, there is still love around.

The story is like an instructional film, telling every adult how to accept their parents leaving, how to learn to say goodbye to their parents, and maybe do more in those final moments.

What makes this movie more like a parent's departure is that when Magrimm left, the movie was about 60% done, maybe a little more, but unlike normal children's films, Magrim didn't go any further. Appeared, really left.

When a person dies, he leaves forever and will never appear in anyone's life again. Everyone has to learn to accept it, learn to face it, just think about it, it's all about life. Huge ordeal, but we always have to grow up, there is no other answer.
