Hard Glass Heart, Reivew on Somewhere

The teen girl played by Elle Fanning seems so cool about everything in her life, parents divorce, a dad deeply buried in his own depression, a mum who need go away for " a while" for her soul salvation. Elle is young and innocent but sensible that her mum and dad, the only people she can count on, will never give priority to her over their own sorrow.

Life gives Elle a thick coat that covers her broken heart. She doesn't hope for anything; she never says things that not supposed to be said although she can tell with one glimpse; she enjoys every happy moment she can grasp and does not look forward.

Finally Elle burst into crying when she felt her mum would be gone for ever but she stopped crying and sought fun with her dad soon. How easy she just let her sadness go because she has a hard heart; because she knew that crying for help would not change anything; because she knew she is insecure all the time...

Elle is eleven but knows how to "cool" about everything to protect herself when no one there is for her.
