The Return

After disappearing for 12 years, the father is back at home, and the two sons, Andrei (Vladimir Garin) and Ivan (Ivan Dobronravov), have grown up. Although they miss their father all the time, they feel a sense of separation when they really meet.
The father took his two sons to a small island in the north of Russia for vacation. They encountered various difficulties along the way, and the father could easily solve them. However, the distance between father and son never narrowed. He treated his sons extremely harshly. The eldest son Andrea could only handle it carefully, but the younger son Ivan was rebellious. Could this trip be a healing journey between father and son?
The film won the 2004 Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, the 2003 Russian Film Critics Association Best Screenplay, Best Newcomer and Best Film Award, and the 2003 Venice Film Festival Best Debut, Golden Lion Award, etc.
