"Coming of Age" in "Return"

Watching the Russian movie "Return", I felt a bit chilly, a bit cold, and there was a bit of desolation in the soundtrack. After watching this film, the first word that popped into my mind was "adult" or "growing up". Some people say that a man's true adulthood is not when he is 18 years old, not when he gets married and has children, nor when he has a successful career, but when his father dies, he finally "growns up". . In the film, the decisiveness and deepness that brother Andre gradually showed after his father's death formed a sharp contrast with the previous obedience, hesitation, and cynicism. Brother Ivan's heart-breaking "father" is almost a turning point in his psychological transformation. From disapproval, confrontation and even "father-killing complex" to identification and investment, it is also a psychological "adult" . The 12-year political metaphor in the film also implies Russian "adulthood". The collapse of the Soviet Union, for Russia, is also similar to "the death of the father", thus ushered in the turning point of "adulthood". "Return" is a piece that is bland and has aftertaste, simple and meaningful, and the more it tastes, the more mellow it becomes.
