After watching "Homecoming", I can't help but think of an American movie "Labor Day".
"Labor Day" is naturally a story that takes place on Labor Day.
A divorced woman takes her elementary school son to the supermarket when she encounters a criminal who has escaped from the hospital. The bleeding man forced the mother and son to drive him home with him.
He was imprisoned for the manslaughter of his wife and escaped during a shift in the hospital doing appendicitis surgery. The police are looking for him everywhere. The mother and son took him in with trepidation.
This person got a rest at their house and did many things for them, such as waxing the floor, changing the oil of the car, repairing the car, making fruit flatbread, teaching the children to play ball... After two days, they have been integrated. Just like a family.
The mother and son were forced to take him in from the original, and then consciously protected him until the end of the working day. They even decided to run away with the fugitive. They might have managed to get away had it not been for a letter from the little boy to his father leaking the secret. The police took the fugitive as they left, and sentenced him to fifteen years for absconding and coercion.
In the days that followed, the woman still lived in her house, and the little boy graduated from college and opened a cake shop, specializing in the kind of fruit cakes the fugitives had taught him to make. After the fugitive's sentence was completed, he found the little boy and his mother according to the advertisement of Fruit Cake, and started a happy life since then. And by this time they were obviously old... the

same story of a fugitive, the same story about a woman and a child, also because the child made a critical mistake, the same ups and downs, the same eventual reunion, but the result gives people The feeling is worlds apart.
The reason is that "Return" is an unjust case, caused by irreversible social reasons, and the dismantling and destruction of an inherent family. And "Labor Day" is a crime caused by an individual subjectively, and it is the encounter and reorganization of a new family. Therefore, the former is heavy and painful, while the latter is light and happy.
An era can allow people to have individuality, and can maintain him to take on the responsibilities arising from individuality, that era is a happy era. People who lived in that era were happy people no matter what country they were in, even in the backcountry.
"Return" because of that special era background, the fate of the characters can't help but make people sigh and sigh. The more real the art, the more moving, and the more heart-wrenching it is. The influence of the director of "Labor Day" may not be as strong as that of Master Zhang in his country, but his artistic life is also deeply touching, and people can't help but admire from the bottom of their hearts: how beautiful life is, even if it suffers hardships, Everything will still be like the lawn in front of the house, covered with crystal dewdrops in the morning sun.
