The film tells the story of single-parent Philip Perry's mother who is very strict with him. The 8-year-old Philip has never even participated in a ghost festival begging for candy. Two criminals from a nearby state prison successfully escaped, took Philip as a hostage, and fled to the Texas border. On the way, Butch, one of the criminals, killed his reckless and stupid accomplice, but took good care of little Philip. At the same time, Texas Detective Reid led his men and the governor's special crime expert Sally to hunt down Butch. The two sides launched a road race in Texas; and Philip also experienced a lot of excitement and happiness that he had never thought of before, and had an unusual relationship with Butch that was similar to a father and son.
