Weronique sings in the rain, she still pursues the real fate, but the meaning of fate has slipped into an unexplainable dilemma. The surroundings are still broken and twisted, and the impetuous impulse of self-disillusionment guides all the unconscious crowd. Parades, passers-by who knock over musical scores, exhibitionists, all have meaning in an ugly and objective way, but fate has lost its meaning.
Weronique dies suddenly on stage, comes to an abrupt end when the humming slides into the high notes, the camera falls to the floor, and the accompanying sound lag fills in a mysterious lead between reality and destiny. Finally, I saw the motif that Kieslowski wanted to explain: Is there another self in the dark watching the self in reality?
Then came Veronique of France, who lived on after Weronique's death. The camera is her sex with her boyfriend, and Kieslowski has always followed an elegant painting style, even the cut-scene dismembered and recoded sex of Veronique and her boyfriend reflects a kind of classic elegance. There is often a surprising sense of communication throughout the film, which is actually a deliberate arrangement by director Kieslowski. However, Veronique is a symbolized existence, her life is not in pursuit of self-meaning, but constantly guided and accidentally guessed.
Just as when she found him under the clues provided by the puppet master, she said, "I'm afraid, you are not here." Veronique's careless guess was the meaning of their love, but it wasn't that he guided her to an unknowable destiny. Even Kieslowski has been deliberately emphasizing the leading role of the craftsman in the film, even to the point of bluntness.
