The first time I knew about this film was reading Zhang Yueran's novel "The Far From Cherry". The mention of this film in the novel gave me the urge to watch it. The two women are named Veronica, and Zhang's is exactly the same. Both have a talent for music, but one lives in Poland and the other in France. When Veronica of Poland was scalded by the stove as a child, Veronica of France had a conditioned reflex without seeing the stove. When Veronica of Poland died at a concert, the French Veronica had a conditioned reflex.
